2 Year Performance Course
During this 2 year full time course the students train to be fully prepared for the profession. In the first year students become secure in all forms of dance, musical theatre, singing and drama progressing at an ambitious rate. Assessments are made, initially by the Directors and Heads of Faculties and then by the tutors on a regular basis ensuring the students an unrestricted opportunity to progress. In the second year the students are encouraged to develop their image allowing time to become confident with their appearance and learn methods to set them apart from the crowd. Performance techniques are established and the student develops the important 'edge' to their performance.
CV's, photos, and Z cards are prepared during the final months and we suggest a choice of photographers and agencies. An audition folder which has been developed throughout the course is now personalised to include sheet music from rehearsed songs and monologues that suit the individual. Students will go to castings and auditions feeling confident and prepared.
Integrated into this course is the BTEC National Certificate in Performing Arts (Musical Theatre). A Nationally recognised qualification equivalent to two A-Levels, the BTEC is divided into units and completed over the two year. Units covered include Tap, Jazz, The Healthy Performer, Musical Theatre Performance and the Performing Arts Business which run alongside the 2 Year Performance Course
The students appear in the end of year showcase where agents, casting directors, musical directors and choreographers are invited (for more information on the showcase please see prospectus).
